The new standard for sanitary ceramics prohibits the listing of toilets with an average water consumption of more than 6 liters, which raises the threshold for the ceramic industry. However, the interviewers found in the building materials market visited that after the implementation of the new standard, although most of the bathroom products have been affixed with “water-saving labels”, many products only pursue water-saving functions, and their performance needs to be discussed.
At present, more and more consumers are interested in saving water, but most consumers do not have a clear understanding of product performance. “The toilet with less water consumption is better” has become a mindset of many people. “my country’s national standards have very high requirements for bathroom water-saving design. However, in order to pursue the simple water-saving function of the surface, some manufacturers cut corners on other technical indicators, and it is easy to flush clean or block the pipe.” Industry experts told The interviewer said, “According to the information we have, at present, only a few leading brands such as Wrigley, Faenza, Eagle, and Yigao can really meet the international standard of 4.5 liters of water consumption and all indicators are qualified. The water-saving products that consumers see are running all over the place.”
Aiming at the growing misunderstanding of water saving in the market, industry veterans said: “Bathroom products are a multi-functional overall product. The convenience of use, the thoroughness of cleaning, and the aesthetic feeling of appearance are all important factors in evaluating the quality of a bathroom product. The more water-saving the bathroom is, the better it is, and the overall performance must be taken into consideration.” Industry analysts believe that the energy-saving of bathroom products cannot be determined solely by water consumption, but should consider the relationship between the product and the building, such as deodorization and anti-blocking , flushing rate, flushing distance and other specific properties.
