The windows at home are sliding windows, which are beautiful and convenient, but the trouble is that the sliding windows will get dirty within a week, especially the track of the sliding windows is very difficult to clean. Seeing the mother-in-law in the house next door clean like this, the sliding windows were cleaned immediately, so I went home and did the same.
Method 1: Cleaning of inner windows
Prepare cleaning tools: cleaning cotton, detergent, towels;
Pour the detergent into a bucket or basin filled with warm water, spread the towel on the floor, and start cleaning the windows;
Wipe off the dust from the window frame with typing or an old cloth, and then clean the window frame thoroughly with dampened cleaning cotton.
The specific cleaning method is as follows:
(1) Clean the window in an S shape from above the window, all the way to the lower right corner;
(2) Start cleaning from the upper left corner of the window, drag the sponge down directly, and then wipe off the moisture on the glass from top to bottom with a rubber brush. Continue wiping the entire window pane in a top-down motion. Use a chamois cloth or dry rag to wipe excess water off the squeegee, then start washing the next row, all the way to the right of the window.
(3) After cleaning each row, don’t forget to dry the brush with a chamois cloth or a dry rag. Otherwise, there will be visible wiping marks on the window glass.
Dry the window frame. After cleaning the window glass, dry the window with a chamois cloth or dry rag.
Method 2: Cleaning of external windows
(1) Prepare cleaning tools: cleaning cotton, detergent, towels and other cleaning tools.
(2) Whether to remove the sliding window according to the cleaning requirements, generally the sliding part can be lifted to remove it, so that the cleaning is more thorough.
(3) Cleaning steps:
Pour the detergent into a basin or bucket of warm water, remove the windshields from the windows, and use a rag or broom to remove the cobwebs;’
Rinse the exterior windows and windows with a soft water hose, and thoroughly clean the window frame with a damp sponge;
Use a garden hose to wash away dirt or dust from exterior windows. Wash one window at a time so that the water stains don’t dry on the windows;
Wet a sponge and clean the window frame thoroughly;
After cleaning each row, don’t forget to dry the wiper with a chamois cloth or a dry rag, otherwise, there will be obvious wiping marks on the window glass;
Dry the window frame, and after cleaning the window glass, dry the window with a chamois cloth or dry rag.
Method 3: other methods
Bucket of warm water: Warm water cleans dirt and grit easier than cold water. But if it’s too cold outside, be careful not to overheat the water, otherwise the glass will crack.
A bottle of rubbing alcohol: This type of isopropyl rubbing alcohol is good for cleaning windows. Do not use red wine or alcohol other than isopropyl alcohol.
Paper towels: In order to avoid leaving fluff after wiping the windows, try not to use fluffy ones, paper towels are the most suitable.
Cleaning steps:
Pour 1/4 of the alcohol into the water and let the alcohol soak for a minute;
Shake the alcohol so it mixes well with the water;
Dip half the towel in the bucket;
Wipe the window glass in a straight motion from top to bottom, you can also use old newspapers for this step, it will ensure that the window glass will not show streak marks;
Use another paper towel to dry the window glass in the same manner as in the cleaning steps above.
Screen cleaning
The screen window is full of dust, and because the mesh is too large, all that is sucked by the vacuum cleaner is air, and the dust cannot be sucked. We can use tape to stick the newspaper on the screen window, and then use a vacuum cleaner to absorb it from the other side, and the dust can be cleaned relatively clean.
If you don’t have a vacuum cleaner or don’t have easy access to the other side, the method below will work as well.
Take some flour, add water to make a thin batter, quickly brush on both sides of the screen window and spread it evenly. After waiting for more than ten minutes, the batter has absorbed the greasy on the screen window. At this time, brush it several times with a brush, and the greasy will fall off together with the batter. Rinse it again with water and the oil stain will disappear.
The easiest way is to take two sponges, soak them in water and shake them dry, put one on the inside and outside of the screen window, push them evenly, and clean the sponges with water at any time. The main point of this method is that the sponge must be large, so as not to damage the screen window, and the effect is good.
Cleaning of the blinds
The blinds can be cleaned using waste cotton gloves.
Pull the shutter so that its blades are parallel;
Put on a pair of rubber gloves first, then put on cotton gloves with detergent, hold the blade with your fingers, and move it back and forth until it is clean;
Then lay the leaves flat and scrub them with clean water;
Wipe dry with a dry cloth and it’s super clean.
Of course, there are many convenient cleaning utensils such as glass brushes and glass wipes on the market for you to choose from. After mastering the skills, it is also very convenient.
Sliding windows have accumulated a lot of dust in ten days and a half months, and it is indeed very troublesome to clean, but mastering cleaning skills may help you clean sliding windows.
