Red curtains provide better protection from the sun.
1. For every 1 per cent reduction in ozone in the atmosphere, UV radiation to the ground increases by 2 per cent and the incidence of skin cancer increases by about 4 per cent. Choose red curtains in the sun to reduce UV damage to your skin.
2. This is because ultraviolet light is the shortest and farthest wavelength from red light in the sun’s seven-color light spectrum. It is easily absorbed by red visible light, which has the longest wavelength. As a result, red curtains absorb and filter more of the sun’s UV rays, thus reducing their damage to the skin. Red has the longest wavelength and absorbs a lot of UV from sunlight, while other colors are relatively weak.
