You may not know about the caisson-style toilet, but if you change the name “sunken toilet”, do you have a feeling of enlightenment? The caisson type toilet mainly refers to sinking its structural layer when building the toilet, about 30cm away from the floor. This sinking can be the overall sinking or partial sinking. So everyone may be a little ignorant, what is a caisson toilet? Next, let’s take a look together!
1. Advantages and disadvantages of caisson toilet
(1) The advantages of the caisson toilet. The caisson toilet can flexibly arrange the infrastructure of the toilet according to the needs of the owners, so as to meet the individual needs of the owners. In addition, we can also change the drainage pipes according to the actual situation and needs, which are much simpler than traditional toilets. If traditional toilets need to renovate the drainage pipes, they need to go to war, which is very troublesome and consumes a lot of manpower, material resources and financial resources.
(2) Disadvantages of the caisson toilet. We have mentioned some advantages of the caisson toilet above, but it also has shortcomings. Since the construction of the caisson toilet is difficult and the requirements for waterproofing are also high, its cost is naturally not cheap. In addition, there is a more serious problem. If the water pipe breaks accidentally, or the joint leaks, or the drain pipe is blocked and cannot be dredged manually, we must pry the floor open, so that it will be relatively safe. Troublesome and cost a lot of money at the same time.
2. Construction method of caisson toilet
(1) Before the caisson toilet sinks to the ground, it needs to be waterproofed twice. The first pass is rigid and the second is flexible. After finishing, you need to do a closed water test, the time is usually 48 hours.
(2) Next, we need to open a round hole at the lowest part of the caisson floor and riser, with a diameter of 20mm, and then insert a 20mm diameter round pipe into the hole, with a depth of about 4mm. This drain pipe should be placed in the center of the agarwood floor so that the caisson water stopper can be easily installed. We also need to make a protective layer with cement mortar on top of the waterproof coating.
(3) After the cement mortar protective layer is completely dry, we can install the upper and lower water pipes and the waterproof body. It should be noted here that we need to cover a layer of pebbles on the body, so as to ensure the smooth drainage of the caisson water.
(4) Immediately afterwards, we will use sand for landfill compaction. Remember that this place should be 5 cm below the ground, and then spread cement to flatten it, then make the bathroom threshold waterproof, and finally lay floor tiles.
The above are some brief introductions about what is a caisson toilet, I hope it will be helpful to everyone!
